Isabel has been the Queen since she entered our home six years ago. She has always possessed confidence that has been hard to deny. When her breeder, Dawn Cox sent me the tale of these cute little puppies – only one did she call stubborn (twice). It was Isabel. Her conformation career has been a joy to us. She was Bes Junior in Sweepstakes at the 1993 BMDCA Specialty in Kansas City. Isabel received an Award of Merit at San Mateo’s1996 Specialty. Her obedience debut earned her first leg at Estes Park at the 1997 nationals. Draft work was the challenge for this stubborn girl – when she decided to work, she did it with a smile on both of our faces! A heartfelt thanks to Isabel for the many friendships she has opened for us. Especially with the Blackrock Empress.(Written for 1997 BMDCA Versatility Dog)

Isabel lived to be just shy of her tenth birthday. After nearly three years of treatment, she finally succumbed to Degenerative Mylopathy. Even though I miss her very much, I see her in the generations of her grand and great grand pups!
