Brigette was the thirteenth puppy born in a litter of fourteen. When she arrive on the scene, she was not breathing. My husband, Michael, was not about to accept this. He worked with this pup for nearly a half hour before she showed any signs of life. Now, here we are …eight years later.
At twelve months, Brigette was the Best in Sweepstakes at the ’98 BNDCR Supported Entry. She was Winners Bitch the following year at the BMDCR ’99 Supported Entry. Her litter sister, Nikki, was RWB! On to draft where Brigette was less enthusiastic. With some patience and some time for us to learn how to work together, Briggie and I teamed up for successful Novice and Open Draft titles. I do feel that she prefers the roar of the crowds when she pulls her cart in a parade! Obedience was the challenge for our Doodle Bug. We completed her Companion Dog title on Valentine’s Day! Brigette is my sixth Versatility Dog spanning three generations. I must admit that while Brigette primarily pulled her cart because I asked her and was able to complete her obedience title, she truly loves being a therapy dog more than anything. She wags her tail as she gets her vest on and is ready to go. When she walks into the classroom of second graders, I don’t know who is happier, Brigette or the children. Everyone has a special gift to share, Brigette shares herself with children. Keep wagging Briggie Doodle Bug!!

* Brigette lived a very happy long life. She was euthanized five days shy of her twelfth birthday. Her eyes were bright but she just could not get up any more. She was tired and needed to go.
